Apples in Her Eyelashes

There she was in the Bumbo,

Her arms waving, toes wiggling, and fingers reaching for the buckles

Probably in anticipation, waiting to see what I would bring her.

Apples this time.

At the first spoonful, she made her scrunchy faces and food shivers

And then upon the realization that it was her favorite,

Attacked the spoon with her face and got

Apples in Her Eyelashes.

I thought she would cry, but we both just laughed.

And laughed and laughed and laughed.
